12. REDCO GROUP DEVELOPMENTAL SUPPORT SYSTEMS
Pottsville, Pa. 17901
Behavioral health services have been generally limited to children with a mental health diagnosis, for that reason, the REDCO Group–DSS division developed a specific model for behavioral health services to treat children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and/or a DSM IV, Axis II diagnosis of mental retardation who demonstrate challenging behaviors that adversely affect the ability of the child to live at home or in the community. Recognizing that a high percentage of children with ASD also carry a diagnosis of mental retardation, the program model is specialized to treat the child and provide supports and services to the family and significant others involved in the child’s life.
