50 years ago, the Autism Society was established by parents with few if any options for their children diagnosed with autism other than institutionalization. The Autism Society transformed the conversation about autism then.  Today, working with over 100 local and state affiliates, the Autism Society continues helping individuals impacted by autism, their families, caregivers and friends with options and opportunities while enabling them to maximize their quality of life and life’s opportunities.  More needs to be done and the Autism Society continues to be at the forefront – leading the conversation and providing real help now to those affected by autism.
